Twenty-two years after the original premiere
Netflix is working on a new adaptation of the romantic comedy «13 Going on 30», one of the most beloved films of the early 2000s.
According to People, Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer have already been spotted on set. The actresses famously portrayed the film’s leading characters in the original 2004 release. Earlier reports suggested that Garner would be involved only as an executive producer, but the latest photos indicate that she is also set to appear on screen.
The project is being directed by Brett Haley, who previously worked on another popular romantic film, «The Holiday». Plot details remain under wraps, and Netflix has yet to officially reveal the full cast. It is still unclear whether the new movie will revisit the story of Jenna Rink and her childhood friend Matt or introduce an entirely new set of characters. The possible return of Mark Ruffalo, who starred opposite Garner in the original film, also remains a mystery.
Released in 2004, «13 Going on 30» quickly achieved cult status. The story followed 13-year-old Jenna Rink, who wished to become an adult and woke up to find herself living in the body of her 30-year-old self. Jennifer Garner played the lead role, while Judy Greer portrayed her friend, who eventually became her rival.
