The scent of Provence in Vienna: a lavender festival to take place in the city’s largest flower garden

Workshops, photo spots and plenty of other activities!
On 13 and 14 June, Vienna’s largest flower garden, Blumengärten Hirschstetten, will be transformed into a charming corner of the French Provence. The venue will host the Lavender Festival – a free family-friendly event dedicated to one of the most beloved plants of the summer season.
Over the course of two days, visitors will not only be able to enjoy the fragrance of blooming lavender and stroll through picturesque gardens, but also learn more about how the plant is cultivated and used.

The festival programme includes themed tours and expert consultations, where specialists will share practical advice on lavender care. Guests will also have the opportunity to observe the distillation process of lavender oil and take part in workshops focused on creating natural cosmetic products.
A dedicated market area will offer a wide range of lavender-based products, including teas, syrups, soaps, scented sachets and other handcrafted items.

The organisers have also prepared plenty of entertainment for younger visitors. Children can enjoy creative workshops, interactive activities and a special class where they can make their own lavender sachet.
The Lavender Festival promises to be a wonderful opportunity to spend a summer day outdoors, capture beautiful photographs among the flowers and experience the atmosphere of a true European summer.
