«Euphoria» comes to an end: the final episode has been released

Sad news for fans
The story of «Euphoria», a series that remained one of the most talked-about television projects in the world for several years, has officially come to an end. HBO Max has released the eighth and final episode of the third season, bringing the story to its definitive conclusion.
HBO has confirmed that there will be no continuation of the series. As a result, Season Three marks the final chapter of «Euphoria».

Viewers were presented with the concluding episode, titled In God We Trust, which runs for an impressive 93 minutes. It is not only the longest episode in the history of «Euphoria», but also the longest episode ever produced for any HBO series. For comparison, even the longest episodes of «Game of Thrones» were shorter – reaching a maximum runtime of 82 minutes.

Notably, the production of the final season was accompanied by numerous challenges. Work on the new episodes was postponed several times due to the actors’ busy schedules and various production-related issues. In addition, rumours suggested that parts of the filming process were occasionally tense because of reportedly strained relations between lead actresses Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney.

As a reminder, «Euphoria» premiered in 2019. The series was created as an American adaptation of the Israeli show of the same name and followed the lives of high school students in California. Its central themes included addiction, psychological trauma, self-discovery, first love, the influence of social media, and the complexities of growing up.

Over its seven-year run, the show delivered three seasons and a total of 24 episodes. The leading roles were portrayed by Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and other cast members, for many of whom «Euphoria» became a major career breakthrough.
