Meghan Markle Shares Archival Wedding Photos With Prince Harry for the First Time

The Couple Celebrate Their Eighth Anniversary
Today marks a special occasion for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry — eight years have passed since they pledged their love and devotion to one another before the world.
To mark their wedding anniversary, Markle shared previously unseen archival wedding photographs for the first time, publishing an entire album of images on social media.

“Eight years ago today,” the 44-year-old actress captioned the photos, which capture touching moments of the couple dancing, embracing, and kissing, unable to hide their joy on one of the most important days of their lives.

The ceremony took place on May 19, 2018, at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The wedding welcomed around 600 guests, including Elizabeth II and numerous international celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and his wife Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, as well as David Beckham and Victoria Beckham.

Meghan and Harry’s wedding is often described as one of the most unconventional ceremonies in the modern history of the British royal family. Among its memorable moments was an emotional sermon delivered by African American bishop Michael Curry, while a gospel choir performed the song Stand by Me.

Particular attention was also drawn to the bride’s entrance. Due to her father’s absence, Meghan walked part of the aisle alone — an unprecedented step for a royal wedding.
Markle’s wedding gown, created by Givenchy, embraced understated minimalism and broke with many traditional royal fashion conventions. At the same time, the ensemble retained classic elements, including a five-metre silk tulle veil and Queen Mary’s tiara.

The celebrations continued with a lavish reception, while the overall cost of the event was estimated at approximately £32 million.
