Britney Spears receives a 12-month suspended sentence

For driving under the influence
The Ventura County Superior Court in the United States has delivered its ruling in the DUI case involving pop star Britney Spears. The 44-year-old singer was given a 12-month probation sentence, according to People.
In addition to the suspended sentence, the court ordered her to pay a $571 fine and credited her with one day of time served, which had been completed during earlier proceedings. The artist managed to avoid an actual prison sentence after pleading guilty and spending several weeks in rehabilitation.

However, Spears is still required to complete a three-month rehabilitation program, attend weekly sessions with a psychologist, and see a psychiatrist twice a month. The court also authorized inspections and searches if necessary, including the possibility of confiscating the singer’s vehicle.
To recall, the incident began in March when police stopped a vehicle that was making dangerous lane changes. Britney Spears was behind the wheel. Officers determined that the artist was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
