Cut cameos – who viewers won’t see in the sequel to «The Devil wears Prada»

Scenes featuring Sydney Sweeney, Anna Wintour, and other stars
Several cameo appearances were cut from the final version of the «The Devil Wears Prada» sequel. Scenes featuring Sydney Sweeney, Conrad Ricamora, and Anna Wintour did not make it into the final cut. A potential appearance by Jessica Chastain was also removed – in her case, the scene was never filmed, Variety reports.
Sydney Sweeney was set to appear as herself. In the storyline, she plays a high-profile client who is dressed by Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt) ahead of an event. This roughly three-minute sequence originally opened the film but was ultimately cut during editing as it did not fit the narrative structure.

A similar fate befell Conrad Ricamora’s storyline – the actor was to portray Andy Sachs’ roommate. However, following test screenings, the character was reportedly considered out of place for the development of the story.
Anna Wintour’s cameo also did not make it into the final version. Director David Frankel filmed her scene in Milan, but the take was unsuccessful, as Wintour delivered her line too early. The scene was not reshot and will instead appear as bonus material on streaming platforms.

At the same time, Anna Wintour also supported the production behind the scenes – she pointed out an error in the set design of a fictional Dior office, where pink flowers were used. In real fashion houses, she noted, only white floral arrangements are ever displayed.

To recall, «The Devil Wears Prada 2» is set for worldwide theatrical release on May 1.
