2000s pop princess Britney Spears has entered a rehabilitation facility. The 44-year-old singer is reportedly undergoing treatment for alcohol and drug addiction.
According to TMZ, after the artist was detained for driving under the influence in California, those close to her insisted on her hospitalization. Ultimately, Spears agreed to receive professional help at a rehabilitation center in the United States.
«She realized she had hit rock bottom. She understands that this will make a good impression on the judge — showing that she is taking the matter seriously,» an insider told the publication.
Spears has struggled with substance abuse issues before, with several difficult periods in her life contributing to these challenges.
Following her divorce from Kevin Federline in 2007, the singer experienced a severe mental breakdown, which became one of the most widely publicized scandals in the entertainment industry. This later led to 13 years under a conservatorship managed by her father, which was only terminated by a court ruling in 2021.
