An irreparable loss has been reported: Hollywood actor, martial artist, and a true icon of the action film era, Chuck Norris, has died in his 87th year.

According to TMZ, the actor passed away in Hawaii. He reportedly fell ill suddenly during a training session and was urgently hospitalized. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, the legend could not be saved—he died in hospital, surrounded by his family.

Just ten days earlier, on March 10, Chuck Norris had celebrated his 86th birthday.

Norris rose to global fame thanks to his role as Cordell Walker in the TV series Walker, Texas Ranger, which became a major hit in the 1990s. He also starred in films such as Way of the Dragon alongside Bruce Lee, The Expendables 2, and many others.

Beyond his film career, Norris was an accomplished athlete—a karate champion and the founder of his own martial arts style.
