Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in Jordan: the purpose of the visit and the Duchess’s looks

The couple will spend two days in the country
For the first time in a year and a half, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have embarked on a joint trip – this time to Jordan. As part of their visit, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to meet with partners of World Central Kitchen and Questscope, as well as visit organisations supporting children and families affected by conflict.
The visit comes amid a crisis within the royal family following the arrest of Harry’s uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, on suspicion of abuse of office.
Today, the couple took part in a WHO roundtable with representatives of UN member states.
For the meeting, 44-year-old Meghan opted for a cream double-breasted tweed blazer paired with matching wide-leg trousers by Veronica Beard. Online observers noted that the Duchess once again appeared to draw inspiration from Princess Diana, who was also known to favour similar ensembles in public appearances.
«It is important to us not only to speak about problems but also to take part personally in the changes that help people», Harry and Meghan stated.
Following the roundtable, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex travelled north of Amman to the Zaatari refugee camp. There, they met a 14-year-old girl from Gaza who had suffered burn injuries.
The couple also visited a youth centre run by Questscope, which offers programmes in art, photography, music and sports to help young people cope with mental health challenges. For this part of the visit, Meghan changed her elegant outfit for a more relaxed and comfortable look.

Since relocating to California in 2020, the Duke and Duchess have undertaken a number of overseas trips reminiscent of official royal tours. During their most recent four-day visit to Colombia in August 2024, they visited a school in Bogotá to discuss the impact of social media with teenagers.
