«We’re in Anticipation»: Lady Gaga on Her Plans to Become a Mother

In a New Photoshoot for Rolling Stone
Pop star Lady Gaga, a seven-time nominee at this year’s Grammys, graces the cover of Rolling Stone — for the fourth time in her career. The magazine has named the artist the centerpiece of its special «Voice of the Year» issue.

In an extensive interview, the 39-year-old singer opens up about a nervous breakdown she endured, the personal challenges she has faced, and her most cherished dream: becoming a mother.

Gaga recalls one of the most difficult periods in her life — the time following her work on A Star Is Born and the Joanne tour. She admitted that she had to seek medical help, as she had been working while taking lithium, a medication used to treat manic episodes in bipolar disorder.
«A moment came when I had no choice but to seek psychiatric help. I was completely broken, and it felt as if relief would never come. Today, I feel incredibly fortunate to have survived,» she shared.

According to the singer, with her album Mayhem she returns to the public renewed, grounded, emotionally stable, and ready to build a family.
For the first time, Gaga publicly spoke about her future with her fiancé, Michael Polansky, and emphasized that her main focus now is motherhood: «More than anything in the world, I want to become a mother. And I know he will be a wonderful father. We’re already living in anticipation of it.»

Rolling Stone notes that the couple is planning a wedding either during the Mayhem Ball tour or shortly after it. Gaga herself adds that the ceremony will be intimate yet deeply meaningful: «We don’t want a lavish wedding, but we want to truly savor that day.»

For the striking photoshoot, Lady Gaga appeared in looks by Vivienne Westwood, Saint Laurent, Falke, Philip Treacy, and other designers.
