Sarah Burton Named Designer of the Year

According to WWD
Sarah Burton, who took the helm of the fashion house Givenchy in September 2024, has been honored with the prestigious WWD Honors Award in the category of Women’s Designer of the Year.
Since her appointment, Burton has ushered in a new era for the brand, masterfully blending modernity with deep respect for its heritage. She continues to reinterpret the Givenchy codes, drawing inspiration from the archives of her legendary predecessors — Hubert de Givenchy, John Galliano, and Alexander McQueen.
Her debut Fall/Winter 2025 collection became one of the season’s standouts: sharp architectural lines, graphic silhouettes, sculptural coats, and a minimalist vision of femininity defined a new direction for the house. The following collection only reinforced this vision, introducing more lightness, sensuality, and movement into her designs.
«I feel as though I’ve started with a blank page, yet remain deeply connected to the story,» Burton shared in an interview with WWD.
