Princess Diana’s nieces launch an elegant evening bag collection

Princess Diana’s nieces, Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza Spencer, have unveiled a sophisticated collection of evening bags created in partnership with the British luxury brand Aspinal of London. The sisters plan to showcase the new designs at festive events and at the upcoming Fashion Awards in London on December 1.
«We’re certainly not designers, but we’ve been carrying Aspinal bags for as long as we can remember. Thankfully, we share the same refined taste», says Amelia.
The collection features two models named after the sisters themselves. The «Eliza» is a structured rectangular clutch crafted from matte croc- and lizard-embossed leather, which can be carried by hand or worn on a slim shoulder strap.
«It reflects my love for clean lines, structure, and timeless elegance. This bag embodies everything I value in style – grace, meaning, and longevity», says Eliza.
The «Amelia» model has a softer personality – a velvet and quilted-leather pouch clutch, adorned with large tassels and a gleaming nameplate. It’s designed for those who favor a bolder, more expressive aesthetic.
«The Amelia is about joy, creativity, and the pleasure of fashion. It celebrates individuality, playfulness, and self-expression. Fashion should give you the freedom to be yourself – and this design does exactly that», she explains.
Both models come in several colorways, making them ideal for the festive season – as a gift for yourself or someone special. Their crystal embellishments make them perfect for any celebration, while their minimalist design ensures wearability beyond the holidays.
In everyday life, the sisters admit, their style is far from extravagant.
«We don’t often step out of our comfort zone. But London is inspiring – you see someone on the street and think, good for them for daring to wear that!» says Amelia.
The creative process behind the collection was a new experience for both.
«It all started with mood boards, followed by endless Zoom meetings, WhatsApp calls, and work sessions. It was a true collaboration», Amelia recalls.
The collection went on sale on Wednesday and is now available online and in Aspinal of London boutiques. Prices range from $470 to $665, depending on the material, detailing, and hardware. The clutch is available with or without crystal fastening, and the bag comes with either a gold chain or a leather handle.
The sisters – daughters of Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer and younger brother of Princess Diana – became Aspinal of London ambassadors this summer. In their debut campaign, inspired by the glamour and romance of 1960s British countryside life, Amelia and Eliza showcased The Great British Season collection.
