The «Godmother» of Hollywood has passed away – actress Diane Keaton

At the age of 79
American actress Diane Keaton has passed away at the age of 79, People reports, citing her family. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Keaton rose to fame through her collaborations with Woody Allen – in «Annie Hall» (for which she received an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a BAFTA), «Manhattan», and «Love and Death» – as well as for her role as Kay Adams in Francis Ford Coppola’s legendary «The Godfather» trilogy.

Over the course of her career, Keaton appeared in more than 70 film projects, working with renowned directors such as Nancy Meyers, Paolo Sorrentino, and Jerry Zaks.
One of her final appearances on screen was in the music video for her debut – and only – single, First Christmas, released last year.
Beyond acting, Diane Keaton also directed, produced, and pursued photography, publishing several autobiographical works. In 2017, she was honored with the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to cinema.

Keaton was never married but raised two adopted children – her daughter Dexter and son Duke. In 2011, it was revealed that she had undergone a private surgery following a skin cancer diagnosis.
