P. Diddy Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Court Verdict

A U.S. court has reached a final verdict in the case of renowned rap artist Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy. The Manhattan District Court sentenced the rapper to four years and two months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. He was also fined $500,000.

According to the prosecution, P. Diddy organized a criminal enterprise that engaged in violence and coerced both women and men working in the escort industry to participate in sexual acts under the influence of drugs. Three months ago, after a seven-week trial, he was found guilty on two counts of organizing prostitution but acquitted of more serious charges — including racketeering and human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

The final hearing lasted over five hours and was marked by emotional pleas for leniency from the rapper and his six children.

In his final statement, P. Diddy begged the judge for mercy, apologized to two women who had accused him of assault, insisted that he had changed for the better, and asked for another chance. The musician broke down in tears as he addressed his mother, Janice Combs.

«You taught me to be better. You raised me better,» he said to her.

Speaking to the judge, Combs declared that he had «lost everything» and had come to despise himself.

«I’ve lost all my businesses, my career, my reputation — and most importantly, my self-respect. I am humiliated and completely broken. Right now, I hate myself. I have nothing left,» the outlet quoted Combs as saying.

According to media reports, the rapper could be released in as little as two and a half years. First, he will receive credit for the 14 months he has already spent in custody, leaving approximately 36 months to serve. Additionally, his sentence could be reduced by another six months for good behavior.

Had P. Diddy been convicted of human trafficking for sexual exploitation, he could have faced life imprisonment.

To recall, the trial of one of hip-hop’s most influential figures began in the United States on May 5, 2025. Sean Combs was arrested in New York on charges of sex trafficking, transporting individuals for prostitution, and participating in racketeering. The charges span the past 16 years of his career and are linked to the organization of so-called «freak-off» parties — exclusive sexual gatherings that, according to authorities, were designed to exploit women.
