Another celebrity couple couldn’t stand the test of time — French actress Marion Cotillard and her longtime partner, director Guillaume Canet, have announced their separation. The 49-year-old actress and the 52-year-old director were never married, but they had been together for 18 years.
The actress and director released an official statement emphasizing that the separation was amicable and mutual. The reason for the breakup was not disclosed.
«After 18 years together, Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet have decided to separate by mutual agreement. In sharing this statement, Marion and Guillaume also express their wish for their private life — especially that of their two children — to remain respected,» a representative for the couple told Agence France-Presse.

The Oscar-winning actress and the director met on the set of «Love Me If You Dare» in 2003, though their romantic relationship began only in 2007. The couple shares two children — a 14-year-old son, Marcel, and an 8-year-old daughter, Louise.
