Another doctor pleads guilty in Matthew Perry’s death

Faces up to 40 years in prison
Another suspect in the death of Hollywood actor Matthew Perry has pleaded guilty. Perry’s personal physician, Salvador Plasencia, admitted in court – during a hearing held yesterday – that he had supplied the actor with ketamine without a medical prescription. What’s more, he sometimes personally visited the «Friends» star to administer the injections himself.
The doctor now faces up to 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine.
According to The Guardian, disturbing new details emerged in court, including text messages between Plasencia and his colleague Mark Chavez – another man charged in Perry’s death. In the messages, they discussed profiting from the actor’s addiction to illegal substances.

«Wonder how much that idiot will pay this time?», «I don’t want him buying ketamine from someone else», «I wish I were his assistant» – these are just some of the texts revealed. One message from Perry himself was also read out, in which he asked Plasencia for an injection. The doctor replied: «I’ll give you the first dose if you want, and leave everything else you need».
As a reminder, the actor had battled alcohol and drug addiction for years. His body was found in his home on October 28, 2023. According to Perry’s attorney, Martin Estrada, the actor received 27 ketamine injections in the last three days of his life.
