Jared Leto accused of sexual misconduct

Nine women have come forward as plaintiffs
Jared Leto has found himself at the center of a scandal. The actor and frontman of Thirty Seconds to Mars has been accused of sexual misconduct. The allegations were revealed in a large-scale investigation published by journalists at AirMail.
Nine women have come forward as plaintiffs. They claim they experienced harassment by the musician in the 2000s. Most of them were between 16 and 20 years old at the time.
One of the accusers stated that Leto’s behavior was systematic. Another woman said she was 16 when she met Leto at a café in Los Angeles, where he asked for her phone number. According to her, the musician called her several times at night, asking questions with an explicitly sexual undertone.
Another «victim», model Laura La Rue, claimed that in 2008 Leto frequently invited her to his home and flirted with her. She said that on one occasion the actor entered the room completely naked.
Others described parties held at the actor’s house, where girls were allegedly recruited by a special agency – if someone wanted to bring a friend, they had to provide her photo: «We only want beautiful ones». Interestingly, one of the women recalled that Jared was always sober and maintained full control over the situation.
Representatives for Leto, as well as the actor himself, deny all allegations. However, this is not the first time accusations have surfaced online against the 53-year-old actor – both from private individuals and from colleagues in the industry. Rumors that Leto is attracted to much younger women have circulated for years. In fact, a 2005 profile in The New York Post opened with this very claim. At the time (Leto was 35), he was linked to Ashley Olsen and Lindsay Lohan, but was reportedly more interested in young models from Elite, IMG, Next, and Women who stayed at the Maritime Hotel.
