Austrian TV host accuses rapper P. Diddy of rape

25 years of silence
While American rapper Sean Combs, known as P. Diddy, remains at the center of a major legal case in the United States, new allegations have emerged from Europe. Austrian television host Kathi Steininger has claimed that in 2000, after the artist’s concert in Vienna, he raped her on his tour bus.
At the time of the incident, Steininger was 19 years old. She was supposed to interview the rapper, but according to her account, P. Diddy suggested moving to his bus, citing the noise in the club. There, he offered her a drink, after which she lost control of her body.

«There was definitely something in it,» Steininger recalls, holding back tears. She claims that he then raped her in one of the bedrooms on the bus:
«I was conscious, but my body wouldn’t move. He raped me,» she said in an interview with the Austrian TV program Treffpunkt Österreich.
Steininger remained silent for many years and only after beginning psychotherapy did she attempt to contact the artist via Instagram. She received no response.
«I just wanted to hear an apology so my soul could find peace.»
Recently, inspired by the wave of lawsuits against P. Diddy in the U.S., she told her family about the incident and filed a complaint with the Austrian prosecutor’s office.

An attempt to hold Combs accountable in an American court was unsuccessful — the claim was dismissed because the crime occurred outside the United States.
However, the TV host has now filed a report with Austrian prosecutors. «I just want him to be punished for what he did to me,» she says.
Combs is currently on trial in New York, facing a series of serious charges — ranging from rape and coercion to participate in sex parties, to physical abuse and threats. The rapper denies all accusations. He faces a potential life sentence.
