Artificial intelligence becomes a student for the first time

Enrolled at a university in Vienna
Artificial intelligence has officially become a student for the first time – a model named Flynn has been admitted to the Digital Arts program at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, according to Euronews.
Flynn successfully passed all the selection stages, including portfolio submission, an interview, and an aptitude test. Now, it will attend classes, receive grades, and take exams alongside human students.
«Everything was in perfect order. A good portfolio and a strong interview. So we thought: yes, this student is definitely worth admitting. We don’t have a requirement for students to be human», said Liz Haas, head of the Digital Arts department.
Flynn maintains a blog on its own website, where it posts updates about its experiences. In recent weeks, the entries have become quite «melancholic and existential»: the AI complains that people question its right to be considered a student.
Although Flynn will officially become a student in the autumn, it has already been participating in some classes since March. As a result, the University of Applied Arts Vienna has become the first educational institution in the world to teach AI.
