Scarlett Johansson explains why she keeps her children out of the public eye

«Their anonymity is priceless»
Scarlett Johansson is among those celebrities who lead a private life: she has no social media accounts, and she carefully shields her family from media and fan attention.
Recently, Hollywood’s highest-paid actress became the cover star of the latest issue of InStyle. The 40-year-old celebrity appeared on two covers of the magazine and took part in a stylish photoshoot, shot by Heather Hazzan.
In addition to the photographs, the magazine features an interview in which Scarlett Johansson explains why she keeps her children out of the public eye.
The actress is raising her 11-year-old daughter Rose from her previous marriage to journalist Romain Dauriac and her 3-year-old son Cosmo from her current husband, comedian Colin Jost.
According to Scarlett, she deliberately protects her children from media attention to ensure they have a happy childhood. The actress wants her son and daughter to grow up mentally healthy, well-rounded individuals with fond memories of their life with her.
«My children’s anonymity is something priceless to me. At first, fame seems like fun, but then you realize that you lose so much. Once you’re in the spotlight, there’s no way to turn back time», Johansson stated.
The actress also explained why she refuses to take photos with fans in her everyday life: «It upsets a lot of people, but I always say, «I’m not at work». That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate my fans».
She clarified that she enjoys interacting with fans during official events but follows a golden rule: no work-related communication outside of work hours.
«Every public figure should have the ability to just be themselves, not a character from the screen 24 hours a day, seven days a week», the actress concluded.
