On the eve of the event, Vienna hosted the 67th Opera Ball, the highlight of the Viennese ball season. This year, the event was particularly significant, as it not only celebrated classical music and dance but also served as a touching tribute to the late Richard Lugner, the renowned Austrian socialite who passed away last year.

Lugner was known for attending the ball accompanied by distinguished ladies, including Hollywood celebrities such as American actress Jane Fonda (2023), reality TV star Kim Kardashian (2014), and hotel heiress Paris Hilton (2007).

The event took place under heightened security measures. Following threats from the ISIS terrorist network against international events, the Vienna Opera Ball significantly tightened its security protocols. More than 400 police officers were deployed to ensure the safety of approximately 5,200 guests attending the gala evening.

The Opera Ball opened with a dance performed by 180 debutants – young men and women aged between 17 and 24 – who gracefully performed a classical polonaise.

Many notable personalities attended the event, including the country’s leadership, representatives of Austrian and international business elites, prominent figures in arts and sciences, outstanding athletes, and, of course, global celebrities.

Among them was Heidi Klum’s daughter, model Leni Klum, who was invited by the Swarovski family. Rumor has it that she was accompanied by her father, Flavio Briatore.

For such an important occasion, Leni chose a shimmering gown paired with matching sandals, completing her look with a luxurious necklace.

Candice Swanepoel also captivated with her memorable outfit. The South African supermodel posed for photographers in a cream-colored cape dress, complemented by elegant Swarovski jewelry, enhancing her delicate look.

The most striking evening ensemble belonged to German model and actress Franziska Knuppe, who arrived at the ball in a red dress by the brand Boscana.
