«Gossip Girl» star Michelle Trachtenberg dies suddenly at 39

American actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl, and the comedy EuroTrip, has suddenly passed away at the age of 39.

According to the New York Post, Michelle’s mother discovered her body on Wednesday in her New York apartment on the 51st floor of a luxury residential complex.

The cause of death was likely complications related to health issues –Trachtenberg had been ill for a long time and had recently undergone a liver transplant.

Michelle’s last Instagram post was on February 18, where she shared an old photo of herself with a humorous caption saying she wanted to look like a «naughty Tinker Bell».

In recent years, the actress had rarely appeared on screen and led a more private life. Trachtenberg was in a long-term relationship with her agent, Jay Cohen.
