P. Diddy demands $100 million from NBC

Over controversial documentary
Rapper and producer P. Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, has filed a lawsuit against the creators of NBC’s documentary, as well as NBCUniversal, Ample Entertainment, and Peacock TV. The 55-year-old artist is demanding $100 million in damages for defamation in the film Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy, as reported by the BBC.
The documentary, which premiered on the streaming service on January 14, features several interviewees making various accusations against P. Diddy and his associates. Among them is an allegation linking the rapper to the death of his former girlfriend, actress and model Kim Porter. Moreover, Combs has been accused of serial killings and human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
In his lawsuit, the artist stated that the film falsely, recklessly, and maliciously attributes crimes to him, portraying him as a «monster» for the sake of profiting from scandal, thereby damaging his reputation.
«The defendants seek only to capitalize on the public’s appetite for scandal, without any regard for the truth, violating Combs’ right to a fair trial», said the singer’s attorney, Erica Wolf.
