«Emilia Perez», «Substance», and other 2025 Oscar nominees

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for the 97th Academy Awards, which will take place on March 2. The ceremony will be hosted by American comedian Conan O’Brien.
In 2025, 10 films are competing for Best Picture, including Anora, The Brutalist, Emilia Perez, The Conclave, Bob Dylan: Completely Unknown, Dune: Part Two, I’m Still Here, Substance, Wicked: The Witch, and The Nickel Boys.
The frontrunner is the French crime-comedy musical Emilia Perez, directed by Jacques Audiard, which received 13 nominations.
Second and third places in the number of nominations are tied between The Brutalist (10 nominations), Wicked: The Witch (10 nominations), Bob Dylan: Completely Unknown (8 nominations), and The Conclave (8 nominations).
