Donald and Melania Trump attended the inaugural balls

Reviewing the looks
After Donald Trump took the oath of office and officially became the 47th President of the United States, he headed to the President’s Room in the U.S. Capitol for the signing ceremony of his first executive orders and administrative appointments.
Later, the new president and the first lady attended three inaugural balls. They first appeared at the Liberty Ball, where Trump delivered a speech. Next, the presidential couple went to the Commander-in-Chief’s Ball. The final event was a ball for donors.
For these events, the First Lady of the United States chose a dress featuring geometric black embellishments by Hervé Pierre, a longtime stylist consultant for Melania.
In 2017, Pierre had already designed an outfit for Melania, and now he has become the fourth designer to create inaugural evening dresses for the same first lady twice. Previously, Nettie Rosenstein dressed Mamie Eisenhower in 1953 and 1957, James Galanos dressed Nancy Reagan in 1985 and 1989, and Jason Wu dressed Michelle Obama in 2011 and 2015.

Melania’s look was completed with white shoes and a wide black choker featuring a diamond brooch created by Harry Winston in 1955.
Donald Trump, in turn, wore a classic black suit and white shirt, accessorized with a black bow tie.
