Biographer Omid Scobie has begun work on a new project about the royal family

Megan Markle will inevitably play a part
When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to release their Christmas card, they didn’t do it through their PR army or even on the website of their Archewell Foundation. Instead, the card, featuring the couple with their children, was revealed by their longtime friend and biographer Omid Scobie. For many, this was proof that Scobie, the author of two books about the Sussexes, continues to enjoy their favor.
Recently, The Mail on Sunday reported that Scobie (mockingly nicknamed «Scobie-Doo» by critics for his passionate support of the Sussexes) has started work on a book and a television project with parallels to Meghan’s tumultuous story with the royal family.

At the center of the story is a glamorous and bold American journalist who leaves a prestigious job in Washington to work in Buckingham Palace’s communications department.
The television project, Royal Spin, has already garnered support from Universal. Scobie plans to move to Los Angeles for the next three to five years to be directly involved in developing the series.
According to a source at Universal, the series resembles Emily in Paris mixed with The Crown:
«Let’s just say the storyline isn’t far removed from Meghan’s own account of her experience joining the royal family – just replace ‘actress’ with ‘publicist.’ The protagonist is a very modern woman, a feminist, much like Meghan herself, but she faces constant challenges from the stiff royal aides. She finds herself at the center of cultural clashes and feels like a fish out of water».
However, in Scobie’s fictional version of events, the bold American conquers the hearts and minds of everyone she meets and ultimately triumphs over the «bad guys» within the establishment.
