Cher reveals she terminated a pregnancy due to drug-addicted husband

Disclosed in her memoirs
American singer and multiple Grammy winner Cher has revealed that she had to terminate a pregnancy with musician Gregg Allman due to his addiction to illegal substances. The confession is detailed in her memoirs.
According to the 78-year-old artist, she discovered she was pregnant during a challenging period in her life. Her relationship with Allman was fraught with difficulties, as he struggled with substance abuse. After finding a bag of drugs in her husband’s belongings following another stint in rehab, Cher made the painful decision to terminate the pregnancy.
«I had a child, a mother, and a sister to take care of. I knew I had to make a choice, and I knew what that choice would be. I was so tired of taking him to rehab», — she shared, as quoted by the Daily Mail referencing her memoir.
At the time, Cher had already suffered two miscarriages and had a difficult pregnancy with her firstborn, Chaz Bono, whom she had with her former husband, Sonny Bono.
«I thought about how I had to stay on bed rest when I was pregnant with Chaz, and how I couldn’t ride in a car for four months except for doctor’s visits. I needed to be at work on Monday. I had to sing and dance», — Cher recounted in her memoirs.
However, despite the challenges, Cher and Gregg Allman later welcomed a son, Elijah Blue Allman. Unfortunately, Elijah has since faced his own struggles with substance addiction.
