Netflix Releases Trailer for Second Season of «Squid Game»

Premieres on December 26
Netflix has finally unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for the second season of the South Korean hit «Squid Game». The premiere is scheduled for December 26. The episode count for the new season has not yet been disclosed, although the first season consisted of nine episodes.
The storyline remains the same: anonymous VIP viewers watch participants endure deadly challenges to win a prize worth tens of billions of won.
In the second season, the main character from the first, Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, returns to try and rescue the participants and put an end to the «Squid Game».
Some fans are hoping for the return of Kang Sae-byeok, a North Korean defector who died in the first season. Actress Jung Ho-yeon, who played the role, earned a Screen Actors Guild Award, along with nominations for the Emmys and MTV awards. The director hinted that she might return in the second season as the twin sister of the original character.
As a reminder, the first season became one of Netflix’s most popular projects. As of 2024, the show has surpassed 265 million views.
