Karl Lagerfeld’s Cat Has a New Rival

86-year-old Indian billionaire Ratan Tata, who passed away this month, left more than $100 million to his beloved shepherd dog, Tito. In his will, he also included his butler and personal chef, granting them a substantial amount.

The Indian mogul dedicated his life to building Tata Group, one of India’s largest companies, with an annual revenue exceeding $100 billion.

The businessman never married or had children, so many in his circle assumed he would leave his $118 million estate to his brother and siblings.

However, Ratan decided otherwise. His siblings will inherit only part of his large fortune.

The will reflects the magnate’s lifelong love for animals: security guards at Tata Group headquarters have been instructed never to turn away stray animals. Notably, Tito the dog was by the businessman’s side until his last days.

Suhel Seth, a close friend of Tata, described the amounts given to all three parties as generous, saying: «He made very, very generous provisions for them. They will never have to work again, and they will be well taken care of».

It seems Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, finally has a worthy rival!
