Former One Direction Singer Liam Payne Dies
At Age 31
Liam Payne, former member of the British band One Direction, has tragically passed away at the age of just 31. According to reports from Western media, the singer died after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires.
«Unfortunately, his injuries were incompatible with life, and we were forced to declare him dead. There was no possibility of resuscitation», — said Alberto Crescenti, head of the emergency services.
Sources indicate that before the tragedy, the artist caused a disturbance — smashing a television and laptop in the hotel lobby. Shortly after, the hotel manager called the police, reporting «aggressive behavior by a man who was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol». Authorities inspected Payne’s room, where they found several packets containing an unidentified substance.
Payne had traveled to the Argentine capital to attend a concert by fellow former One Direction member Niall Horan. Argentine authorities have launched an investigation into the case.
The singer rose to fame through his participation in the reality show The X Factor and later as a member of One Direction. His solo career took off with the release of the single Strip That Down in 2017, and his collaboration with Rita Ora, For You, from the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, reached the top 10. Payne is survived by his seven-year-old son from his relationship with singer Cheryl Cole.
