Stefano Cantino Appointed New CEO of Gucci

He will replace Jean-François Palus
The Italian fashion house Gucci, part of the Kering conglomerate, has announced its new CEO, Stefano Cantino. On January 1, 2025, he will take over from Jean-François Palus.
Since May 2024, Cantino has served as the brand’s Deputy CEO. Prior to this, he spent twenty years at the fashion house Prada and later at Louis Vuitton, where he has been responsible for communications and the image of LVMH’s flagship brand since 2018.
«I am deeply grateful to Jean-François for his dedication and loyalty to Gucci during this transitional period», — commented Kering’s Deputy CEO Francesca Bellettini. — «I am confident that, building on what has been created over the past 15 months, Stefano and the Gucci team will succeed in restoring the brand to the leadership position it deserves».
It is speculated that the leadership changes are connected to Gucci’s declining financial performance. The brand’s revenue for the first half of 2024 dropped by 19%, amounting to €4.1 billion.
